The Leather Jacket I Needed at Midnight – So I Designed It
Midnight has always been my favorite hour.
It’s when the world quiets down. When there’s no styling team, no expectations, no eyes scanning your body like you’re a problem to solve. Just you. Your thoughts. Your reflection.
And for years, what I saw at midnight… was a woman who loved fashion but had nowhere to belong in it.
That’s why I named this jacket “The Midnight Moto”.
Because it was designed in those silent, honest hours — after I had taken off another jacket that didn’t fit, after I had scrolled past yet another brand that called 2X “inclusive,” after I promised myself: If no one’s going to make the classic leather jacket we deserve… I will.
So no — this isn’t some rebranded men’s moto, dyed black and upsized as an afterthought. This is a plus-size-first pattern, drafted from scratch.
This is my answer to all the compromises we’ve been expected to make.
When I designed The Midnight Moto, I built it for:
- The woman who doesn’t want her jacket cropped just to “look cute” — she wants coverage and confidence
- The one who values structure but still wants to move her arms freely
- The one who’s done hearing “this runs small” like it’s her fault
- The one who doesn’t need shine or sparkle — she just needs respect stitched into every seam
When I first shared the prototype with Leatherings, they didn’t blink.
The founder looked at the sketches and said: “Let’s take it to 6X. And beyond that? We’ll custom-make it. No upcharge.”
That moment meant everything to me. Because I’ve stood in boardrooms where they quietly decide which bodies are “worth stocking.” This was different.
This jacket isn’t about fitting in. It’s about finally, unapologetically fitting right.
Why “Midnight”?
Because midnight is power. It’s quiet. It’s deep. It’s when your body isn’t being policed — it’s just being yours.
When I wear this leather jacket walking home at night, I don’t feel like I’m performing confidence.
I feel like I am the moment.
This jacket is for every plus-size woman who’s waited too long to feel that. To zip up something made for her. Not just in size — but in spirit.
The Midnight Moto. For when the world goes quiet – but your presence doesn’t.
